Convictions (10/4/15)

I don’t need you to form my thoughts,

I have a mind enough of my own.

There’s no need for your “should” or “ought,”

When my truth is already known.

I don’t need you to “show me the way,”

Or to tell me I have it all wrong,

I understand what you want to convey,

But I don’t have a need to belong.

There is a path that I choose for me,

Without all of your restrictions.

You still have a right to disagree,

But it’s a path of my own convictions.
