If I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep,
But never woke again,
Would you wish you hadn't let me go,
And turned away a friend?
Would you have held onto me tight,
And never let me go?
Or would you do what you already did,
For reasons I still don't know?
If I never woke again,
Would you even mourn?
Would a tear escape your eye,
Would your heart be torn?
Or have I been forgotten,
Just someone you used to know?
The someone you turned away from,
Just someone from long ago?
